Scenes from the Collection

The Jewish Museum

Having previously been a linear, historical survey, The Jewish Museum’s collection display underwent a major re-interpretation to allow for a more surprising interplay among the artworks. The new exhibition, named Scenes From The Collection, established a number of scenes, or mini-exhibitions, that formed organizing principles for grouping artwork. As the previous show closed, we created a “trailer” for the upcoming exhibition by filming the soon-to-be-displayed artworks in the Museum’s art storage facilities. Free to rearrange and juxtapose the artworks, this exercise allowed us to explore and document our own interpretation of the collection.
